The Visitor
I have been wanting to see
The Visitor ever since I heard Richard Jenkins starred in it. One of the premiere "what do I know that guy from?" actors who you see in films all the time but could never name if you were asked, Jenkins makes every movie he's in better because of it. He was the funniest thing about
Step Brothers. I think a lot of people got to know him better as the dad on
Six Feet Under. He's an excellent actor and even though I had no idea what
The Visitor was about, knowing he was the star and had been nominated for an Oscar was all I needed. Well, I finally got to see it this weekend and I was not disappointed. If you're someone that needs your movies to always be 'feel good' experiences, then this isn't for you. But if you like well-acted, well-told stories that will make you feel something, then I definitely recommend renting this one.
