Nice Weekend

This weekend Jared, Bryan, Jesse and his friend Megan headed North to my uncle's cabin. It's so cool that he lets family use the place when he and his family are not there. It's a beautiful log cabin that he and a couple of my other uncles built themselves. It's a couple hours drive and it's in a really secluded area on a small lake. The cabin itself is by no means roughing it. Direct TV, flat screen, Sleep Number beds, a sauna (that I've never used but it sounds fancy, haha), large kitchen, big deck, AC, etc. It's my kind of 'getting away.'

We ate great food, enjoyed some beverages, watched some good (and not so good movies)... good Lord, free HBO and Cinemax weekends are a bust! We made s'mores that I could actually eat thanks to vegan marshmallows on a great fire Bryan build out back, sat by the lake, ran the dog around on the lawn, worked on a jigsaw puzzle (a cabin tradition) and just generally have a relaxing time.

I hope someday I'll actually be able to have something like that myself. Ah pipe dreams!
