I love baseball. I've been a Twins fan since way back in the day. I was at Game 6 of the 1991 Series when Kirby Puckett made a spectacular run-saving catch and then hit a home run himself to send the series to Game 7, where the Twins won again. There have definitely been highs and lows being a Twins fan but unlike some teams that try to buy their way into the playoffs each year the Twins have done it with an excellent farm system, great team chemisty and (gasp!) hard work. This season has gotten off to a slow start with the team at .500 after 22 games. So having Joe Mauer back in the line-up and hitting a home run in his very first at-bat of the season was certainly a boost and hopefully a good sign of things to come. No one is running away with the division just yet so hopefully there are some great months of summer baseball yet to enjoy. And with it being the last season in the Metrodome I hope to catch a few games in person too.
