Who knew indie rocks newest champion would be NBC Nightly News host Brian Williams? Apparently he's launched a new feature on the NBC Web site cslled BriTunes, where he'll regularly be interviewing indie acts he finds interesting and cool. How did this come about? Apparently he told Spinner he likes Cat Power. I'm not wild about the name of the feature... it's super lame actually. But if it raises the profile of some up-and-coming indie bands, let the fake tanned-man with the awkwardly white eye-lids do his thing.
