Marathon TV

The weekend was largely spent indoors. I was hoping to catch some poolside time but the sun was never out long enough to make that worthwhile. After that tasty meal at Northstar Cafe last night I ended up in an unplanned Dexter marathon. It took me ages to get to Season 2 but I got on a roll last night and plowed through episodes 8-12. I like the show a lot but I don't have Showtime. Luckily the season was available to watch through Roku so it made it really handy to start catching up. I guess I need to find Season 3 now.

Then again today I got sucked into a marathon I had no idea was on for a show I had never considered watching. BBC America has some cool stuff to watch and I immediately got sucked into this show. A fast pace, lots of laughs and deeper characters than I would have imagined, pulled me in for a good five hours of shows and I've got two more tapes. I'm not sure I'll watch season 3 since it most of this cast will not be back, but I enjoyed this 'generation' of the show, whose cast includes Slumdog Millionaire's Dev Patel and Nicholas Hoult from About A Boy. I'd like to see more episodes. I certainly don't look at the show as a realistic portrayal of teenage life but I am certainly enteratained by it.
