Geez, I haven't blogged in two months. I've been meaning to but I guess nothing made me feel like it until I heard that Leslie Nielsen had passed away. I think he may have been one of my favorite comedic actors. And the odd thing is, he was 24 years into his career when he starred in Airplane, which at the time was a total departure from a very serious acting career. But it was that movie, along with the Police Squad TV series as well as the Naked Gun movies that defined his career. His deadpan delivery of lines became his trademark and no one comes close to doing it like he did. Thirty years later Airplane is still just as funny to me. Nielsen seemed like a genuinely nice and funny man too. His interviews always seemed to feature a whoopy cushion. It's the kind of humor my mom's family is into and I guess that's why I was so drawn to him. I found a little tribute to him on YouTube that shows some of his funny moments...
I hate that I have two posts in two months and they are about dead celebrities, haha. But I'll post more soon that no one will see except me, lol.
