Tastiest Thing Ever!
I came across this German pancake recipe in GQ Magazine of all places. And OK, perhaps it's not the tastiest thing EVER but it's seriously right up there! This is the most delicious thing I have eaten in a looooong time. And it's super easy!
Preheat your oven to 425 and put three tablespoons of butter in either an oven safe skillet or a pie dish and place it in the oven until the butter melts. While you're doing that mix:
1/2 Cup Of Flour
1/2 Cup Of Milk
1 Teaspoon Of Sugar
2 Eggs, Beaten
A Dash Of Salt
A Dash Of Nutmeg
Pour mixture into the hot skillet and immediately return to the oven. Back for 18-20 minutes. The pancake will be puffy and should be browned evenly. I used a pie dish myself and just placed it on a cookie sheet. I topped it with maple syrup though the recipe says lemon juice and powdered sugar can be used too. I'm sure you could top it with other things as well but syrup was money for me! It's ridiculous how good this thing is!
